CAME BPT SOUTH AFRICA is the largest Audio and Video Intercom Company in South Africa and it is supplying the broadest portfolio of systems from Audio and Video Intercom Systems products, Gate Automation, Door Automation, Parking Systems, Traffic Barriers, Turnstiles, Access Control Systems, CCTV and others to a wide range of customers throughout South Africa. We are a solely owned subsidiary of our parent company CAME GROUP an Italian manufacturer with in excess of forty years of access automation experience. Due to this growth and recent acquisitions, we now have a vacancy for a CCTV and Access Control Technical Support champion, based in our Johannesburg Head Office.

YOU

Must have your own car and be living within close proximity of our HQ, be flexible in order to plan effective management of the territory must have a good geographic appreciation of the area. You will be a self-starter, capable of succeeding with minimal supervision. You must have an evident record of achievement preferably in a related industry, a level of acumen commensurate with this important role and a real can-do attitude. You should ideally have the following characteristics in your profile.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Access Control and CCTV technical support experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ networking support experience.
  • PC A+ certification, N+ advantageous
  • Installation background advantageous
  • Technical sales experience advantageous
  • Language: English and Afrikaans (mandatory)

THE ROLE

The role has various clear strategic goals, which are all important.

CCTV and AC technical support

It means to support the customers on the CCTV and the Access Control range for both processes of pre-sales and after-sale. Pre-sales will involve site survey, products suggestion for the project, revision of bill of quantity for the systems to be proposed. After-sale will involve support to customers for the commissioning, training and the activation of the systems. Assisting on technical support on other range of products, when required, especially on the IP based ones.

Testing and verification

This is related to new potential products also in relation with integration, and interface on various software based products in our range. It may also include an activity of testing of the products received from suppliers, when a firmware or software update is required.

Training

It means supporting the Training manager on technical training to customers and internal staff, especially on CCTV and Access Control products and on network/IP topics. It may require to develop specific documents and presentations for this purpose.

Assistance and internal IT support

This is minor task but can be required from time to time.

Sales

In time, this position can evolve into a sales position in terms becoming a consultant for the customers. This can be discussed in detail during the interview.

You would be expected to work in a structured manner following set procedures and you will report to the CCTV and Access Control Product Manager.
